Role Overview
This Junior Civil Engineer role is designed for a motivated individual looking to contribute meaningfully beyond routine site supervision. Reporting to the Senior Civil Engineer, you will participate in all phases of project delivery across multiple civil infrastructure initiatives—ranging from planning and estimation to execution, quality assurance, billing, and handover. This role offers an invaluable opportunity to build both technical and project management skills within impactful community infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily construction site supervision to verify adherence to approved plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Conduct quality assessments including material inspections and workmanship reviews in line with engineering standards and IS codes.
- Coordinate project activities with contractors, vendors, architects, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Support quantity estimation, maintain bills of quantities, validate measurements, and help prepare project documentation and progress reports.
- Contribute to contractor billing processes, measurement book compilation, and reconciliation of executed works.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance on site to maintain safe working environments.
- Track project timelines, identify risks or delays, and communicate these promptly to senior engineering staff.
- Participate in final inspections, snagging processes, quality verification, and formal project handover.
Candidate Requirements
- B.E. or B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Approximately 2 to 3 years of experience in civil construction, site execution, and infrastructure development projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, construction drawings interpretation, quantity estimation, bill of quantities preparation, billing procedures, and quality control practices; knowledge of MS Project is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to construction challenges.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently across project sites and work from headquarters in Hoshiarpur.
