Junior Architectural Engineer

Job Overview

The Junior Architectural Engineer will assist in managing architectural deliverables, specifically focusing on construction site support and design coordination. Reporting to the Design Manager and working under a Senior Architectural Engineer, this position involves reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, and coordinating among multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements and approved plans are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer daily on-site architectural engineering support by addressing construction inquiries, RFIs, and clarifications.
• Verify architectural works on site comply with approved drawings, specifications, and material samples.
• Detect and help resolve construction discrepancies and non-conformances alongside senior staff.
• Coordinate architectural activities with other engineering disciplines such as structural, MEPF, façade, and fit-out teams to prevent execution conflicts.
• Support snagging processes, inspections, and quality control reviews of architectural finishes.
• Create and update architectural sketches, mark-ups, and simple detail drawings to facilitate construction adaptations, including temporary works.
• Assist in preparing redline and as-built drawings reflecting site conditions accurately.
• Provide drafting support using AutoCAD and Revit to promptly resolve on-site issues without depending solely on dedicated drafting personnel.
• Review architectural shop drawings, material submittals, and samples under guidance to ensure adherence to design intent and standards.
• Assist in managing submittal comments and tracking approvals, ensuring materials and drawings implemented on-site are in conformity.
• Support the preparation and review of as-built documentation.
• Help respond to technical queries and coordinate tracking of non-conformance reports and site observations.
• Maintain organized records of technical communications and on-site decisions.
• Attend coordination meetings, liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and multidiscipline teams to facilitate smooth workflow and document control.
• Engage in continuous learning about architectural details, materials, and construction methodologies and contribute to knowledge sharing and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering is mandatory; a Master's degree or professional engineering certification is advantageous but not required.
• Between 4 to 7 years of practical experience in architectural design or construction projects.
• Proficient understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP coordination processes.
• Experienced with reviewing design drawings, submittals, and supporting site implementation.
• Familiar with construction project workflows involving RFIs, submittals, and quality assurance procedures.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
• Hands-on capabilities with drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and an eagerness to learn.
