Role Overview
This Junior Accountant position based on-site in St. Mary's, NSW, involves supporting daily finance operations including invoice processing, accounts payable and receivable management, and bank reconciliations. The role further contributes to month-end and year-end financial closings with journal entry preparation, ledger upkeep, and generation of fundamental financial statements. Maintaining precise records, complying with company guidelines and regulations, answering internal queries, and assisting with audits are key responsibilities. Collaboration with finance team members and enhancement of financial processes are also integral to this role.
Qualifications and Skills
- Sound understanding of accounting fundamentals related to general ledger operations, journal entries, and reconciliation processes.
- Competency in using accounting software alongside Microsoft Excel for tasks such as data input, spreadsheet management, and basic financial reporting.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management and record keeping.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities to foster team collaboration effectively.
- Organizational and time management skills enabling multitasking and meeting of deadlines.
- Possession of or progression towards a qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Willingness and capacity to quickly learn new processes, exercise initiative within set limits, and adapt to evolving business requirements.
- Experience or familiarity with manufacturing or construction sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
