Position Overview
Job Squad, Inc. is urgently seeking a dedicated Job Coach to provide direct assistance to individuals employed within community businesses. This role involves establishing and nurturing positive relationships with those served, their support networks, and employers. The Job Coach will deliver on-the-job training and supervision tailored to individual learning styles, work histories, and skills, aiming to teach job responsibilities, aid job retention, and model appropriate social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer all necessary support to ensure employment success for individuals served.
- Practice Supported Employment Services philosophy emphasizing inclusion, access, and self-determination.
- Maintain a consistently positive attitude to effectively support each person.
- Assist individuals in being valued members of their workplaces.
- Develop methods to engage constructively with individuals, their support systems, and businesses to sustain community employment opportunities.
- Adapt to each business's culture to benefit the person served.
- Provide training, coaching, prompting, and encouragement to maximize employee potential.
- Offer transportation to individuals served as appropriate.
- Serve as a positive role model at all times.
- Support personal care needs when necessary.
- Complete required documentation promptly and thoroughly.
- Obtain and communicate work schedules to management and request assistance when needed.
- Participate in team meetings representing the interests and wishes of individuals served.
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred.
- Experience in social services is advantageous but not mandatory as training will be provided.
- Understanding of general business needs and employment issues.
- Sensitivity to barriers faced by persons with support needs and awareness of employer concerns.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Competence in systematically transferring job activities at a suitable pace to optimize job performance.
- Capacity to engage positively with diverse individuals and employers.
- Valid West Virginia driver's license, reliable vehicle, good driving record, CPR/First Aid certification, and successful completion of background and drug screenings.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage of $15.
- Medical insurance with 80% premium covered by the company (for full-time employees).
- Dental, vision, life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance fully paid by the company (for full-time employees).
- 401(k) retirement plan with up to 4% company match.
- 11 paid holidays annually.
- 10-15 days of paid time off.
