Position Overview
This 12-month fixed-term role involves providing specialized IT support remotely and onsite to colleagues nationwide. The objective is to enable science, operational, and corporate teams to perform effectively by offering prompt assistance, resolving technical problems, and supporting continuous enhancements of the user experience as a part of the Service Desk team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver IT assistance both remotely and on location to staff across New Zealand.
- Manage incident resolutions and handle service requests via the Service Desk system.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot user hardware and software devices.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, mobile technology, printers, and local network connectivity.
- Oversee IT hardware lifecycle and asset management.
- Participate in service improvement projects and technology-related initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Two to three years of experience in IT user support, service desk assistance, desktop support, or related roles.
- Excellent customer service orientation with clear communication skills across various technical familiarity levels.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities covering PCs, desktop peripherals, mobile devices, software applications, and collaboration tools.
- Proficient in supporting Microsoft environments; experience with Linux and macOS platforms is advantageous.
- A proactive and positive approach focused on enhancing user satisfaction.
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver license.
