Job description
Position Overview
University College Cork (UCC) seeks to recruit an IT Manager to lead its Digital Experience function. Reporting directly to the IT Services Director, this senior role is responsible for overseeing the provision of modern, dependable, and user-focused digital platforms and services to support teaching, learning, collaboration, and productivity for both staff and students.
Team Leadership and Responsibilities
The IT Manager will supervise three specialist teams totaling about twelve technical professionals: the Learning Technologies Unit, the Web Applications Team, and the Digital Advisory Centre. These teams manage configuration, administration, support, and ongoing enhancements of key enterprise digital platforms supporting academic and administrative functions.
Collaborating closely with academic and professional leaders, the Manager will ensure these services align with the University's evolving needs, maintaining robust governance, high service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Role Emphasis
While a strong technical understanding of enterprise digital platforms is essential, the primary focus encompasses strategic leadership, people management, stakeholder engagement, service management, and driving continuous improvements. The role requires fostering innovation, enhancing user experiences, and ensuring operational excellence in line with institutional priorities.

Appointments will be made on the Admin I Salary Scale: €86,119 - €113,446 (Scale B) or €83,156 - €107,771 (Scale A), with placement following public sector pay policies.
Interviews will initially be conducted online via Microsoft Teams or in person; candidates may be required to attend further in-person interviews.
