Position Overview
The Global Investment Strategy Team within Davy Private Clients is seeking an Investment Analyst. This team formulates and communicates Davy's perspective on global economic trends and investment markets. Collaborating with investment selection and portfolio construction teams, they guide asset allocation for both discretionary and advisory clients. The analyst will report directly to the Head of Investment Strategy at Davy Wealth Management.
Role Responsibilities
- Join a team of skilled investment professionals aiming for high performance.
- Gain exposure to various asset classes such as equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
- Contribute to the production of regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and occasional analyses evaluating asset class and market performance.
- Support senior colleagues in creating marketing and sales materials.
- Assist in developing the firm's macroeconomic and market outlook.
- Help formulate tactical investment recommendations for discretionary portfolio management.
- Prepare internal briefings and insights on assigned economies and markets, alongside ongoing investment monitoring and updates.
- Participate in client events, internal seminars, and meetings.
- Maintain and provide input on investment content for the team.
- Attend relevant investment conferences and seminars for continuous professional development and research purposes.
Candidate Profile
- A genuine passion for investing and financial markets.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking capabilities.
- Positive, adaptable mindset with enthusiasm and self-motivation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Holds a Degree or Master's in a business-related field.
- Up to three years of experience working in investment roles.
- Willing to pursue QFA and CFA qualifications.
- Proficiency with information technology, especially advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
- Effective workload prioritization and time management.
Regulatory Requirements
The role is classified as a "Controlled Function" (CF3, CF4, CF10) per the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness & Probity Standards. Therefore, candidates must either hold or be prepared to undertake examinations such as APA (Regulation & Investment), Registered Stockbroker, QFA, and APA (Pensions) due to function relevance. Employment offers are contingent upon compliance with these standards.
