Instrumentation Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified and hands-on Instrumentation Engineer/Technician responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control systems at our manufacturing plant. The candidate will manage automation and process control elements while ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle installation and calibration of various field instruments including temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters, as well as limit switches, weighing scales, and laser sensors.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance in adherence to scheduled plans.
• Maintain detailed records of calibration, maintenance activities, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation electrical faults involving AC/DC voltage systems and signal transmissions.
• Operate and maintain analog and digital communications (4-20 mA, 0-10 V, HART, Fieldbus) along with control systems such as PLC, SCADA, HMI, and PID controllers.
• Support automation system adjustments, fault diagnosis, and ensure safety interlocks and control loops function properly.
• Collaborate with production and process teams for resolving instrumentation issues, supporting plant reliability and uptime.
• Comply with safety protocols and best practices during all maintenance and installation processes.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Sound understanding of AC/DC electrical principles, voltage, and current.
• Experience with analog and digital instrumentation signaling and PID control loop tuning.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting, familiarity with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or equivalent controllers.
• Hands-on expertise in SCADA and HMI systems operation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, instrument loop, and electrical diagrams.
• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and fault resolution.

Educational Background and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or related fields.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant industrial instrumentation and automation experience.

Preferred Industry Exposure

Experience within process manufacturing sectors such as recycling, metals, chemicals, cement, power, or oil & gas is advantageous.

Position to be based in Ranjangaon, Pune.
