Inspector I - NDT Quality Control Specialist

Job Overview

This role focuses on inspecting welds and materials using various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), and Time of Flight Diffraction Ultrasonic Testing (TOFD). The purpose is to evaluate conformity to standards and accurately identify any flaws based on codes and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute NDT tests such as UT, RT, MT, PT, visual inspections, PAUT, and TOFD.
• Supervise NDT procedures ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and industry best practices.
• Support technicians in the preparation and calibration of NDT tools per procedural guidelines.
• Maintain NDT equipment to guarantee operational readiness and performance.
• Manage allocations of personnel, tools, and materials necessary for NDT projects.
• Perform regular reviews and inspections on NDT processes to promote continual improvement and compliance.
• Offer training, guidance, and technical assistance to NDT personnel to elevate their competencies.
• Confirm structural material types (e.g., plates, beams, angles) align with installation drawings and specifications.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a diploma in a relevant discipline.
• Hold NDT Level II certification (such as PCN, CSWIP, ASNT) covering UT, PT, MT, RT, PAUT, and TOFD methods.
• Certification as an ISO 9001:2015 auditor or lead auditor.
• Additional Level II certifications in other NDT methods are advantageous.
• At least 9 years of experience in quality assurance within marine engineering sectors involving jacket structures, ships, and rigs.

Language Skills

• Proficiency in English is required.
• Knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
