Role Overview

This role is focused on managing safety for work-at-height activities within port operations in Ahmedabad. The position calls for building strong safety controls, training teams, checking compliance, and reducing risks linked to elevated work environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, roll out, and oversee complete safety systems for work-at-height tasks.
• Keep all procedures current and aligned with industry expectations as well as Adani Group safety standards.
• Carry out periodic risk reviews and hazard evaluations for height-related activities.
• Spot possible work-at-height hazards in ongoing port operations and put mitigation plans in place.
• Create and conduct safety training for employees involved in work at height.
• Make sure workers are properly trained on safety gear usage and emergency response steps.
• Support different departments in identifying work-at-height tasks and guide them on suitable risk-control measures.
• Ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal safety rules.
• Track regulatory updates and revise internal safety practices as needed.
• Investigate incidents and near misses connected to work at height and document findings.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and suggest corrective actions to avoid repeat events.
• Manage inspection, upkeep, and certification of safety equipment used for elevated work.
• Confirm that equipment remains compliant and fit for use.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are followed.
• Act as a contact point for safety-related concerns and queries.
• Conduct site checks and safety audits on a regular basis.
• Review how effective the safety controls are and update them when needed.
• Create emergency response plans for work-at-height operations.
• Train workers on emergency actions and run periodic drills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably with exposure to work-at-height operations.
• Certification as a work-at-height trainer.
• Strong understanding of work-at-height rules and safety standards.
• Hands-on experience with risk assessment and hazard analysis.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

The role involves supporting port operations and ensuring safe practices across work-at-height activities, including prevention, compliance, audits, and emergency readiness.
