Position Overview

The Houseperson plays a crucial role within the housekeeping team, dedicated to maintaining a clean, orderly, and inviting atmosphere for guests and staff. This position provides essential support by keeping public areas spotless, restocking supplies, and responding promptly to the needs of guests, embodying the company’s commitment to outstanding hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms to ensure a welcoming guest environment.
  • Set up and dismantle tables and chairs in meeting rooms as needed.
  • Clean and organize meeting spaces and storage areas for housekeeping supplies.
  • Deliver linens, amenities, and necessary supplies quickly to housekeeping associates to facilitate efficient room preparation.
  • Assist in the collection and removal of trash and soiled linens from carts and storage zones.
  • Respond courteously and promptly to guest requests including extra towels or bedding.
  • Replenish housekeeping carts and storage locations with all required materials for daily operations.
  • Maintain constant communication with housekeeping staff to prioritize and complete tasks effectively.
  • Contribute to deep cleaning projects and other specialized cleaning duties when assigned.
  • Adhere strictly to safety and security procedures, ensuring proper handling of cleaning tools and chemicals, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues observed.
  • Conduct all guest interactions professionally and in alignment with company guest service standards.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth and comprehensive service delivery, enhancing guest satisfaction.
  • Strictly follow protocols related to property safety, including key management and lost and found systems.
  • Participate actively in daily operations meetings, contributing to collective hotel goals and strategies.
  • Perform additional tasks as delegated by the General Manager or department leaders to support overall hotel success.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Preferred educational background is a high school diploma or equivalent, though not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or housekeeping roles is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to undertake physical duties including standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and handling heavy carts.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of interacting respectfully and professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, encompassing weekends and holidays as business demands.
  • Strong commitment to uphold the company’s standards for cleanliness and guest service quality.
