Role Overview
The Housekeeping Specialist is a full-time position based on-site at the Accra property. The primary responsibility is to uphold exceptional cleanliness and presentation levels across guest rooms, bathrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. Key daily duties involve bed making, linen changes, thorough cleaning and sanitization of surfaces, replenishment of guest amenities, and proper handling of laundry tasks. The Specialist will regularly inspect rooms to ensure quality standards, report any maintenance concerns, and adhere strictly to safety and hygiene policies established by the hotel.
The role also necessitates courteous and efficient response to guest requests, providing support to housekeeping team members during high-activity times, and contributing to an inviting atmosphere that reflects the hotel's cultural richness.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven expertise in housekeeping tasks, emphasizing meticulous cleaning and sanitization.
- Experience managing laundry operations including washing, drying, ironing, and proper linen organization.
- Effective customer service and communication skills for professional interaction with guests and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and follow standardized procedures, adapting to new practices as needed.
- Previous hospitality or boutique hotel experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards relevant to housekeeping roles.
- Dependability with strong time management; physical capability to stand, walk, and carry moderate loads during shifts.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
