Role Overview
Embrace the opportunity to extend your optical expertise beyond the traditional store setting as a Home Visits Optical Assistant. This position enables you to deliver personalized eye care services directly to patients who are unable to visit retail locations, enhancing their wellbeing from the comfort of their homes.
Work Environment and Location
Your daily routine will involve traveling across diverse locations including Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire, Bath, Northeast Somerset, Bristol, and parts of Wales such as Chepstow and Monmouth. Each day presents unique situations and settings, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The preferred candidate will ideally be situated near South Bristol or Weston-Super-Mare to effectively service the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver thorough optical care during home visits to vulnerable patients across the specified region.
- Dispense eyewear confidently at all levels, catering to individual patient needs.
- Develop meaningful patient relationships through focused one-on-one interactions ensuring comfort and quality care.
Candidate Profile
- Approachable and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Valid full UK driving license essential to fulfill travel requirements.
- At least six months to one year of recent optical experience with strong dispensing abilities at all levels.

- Prior work specifically in optics enhancing patient care skills.

- Part-time position: 24 hours weekly, scheduled Wednesday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility as needed.
