Job Overview and Terms

The role available is for a Healthcare Assistant on the General Side at Peamount Healthcare located in Newcastle, County Dublin. This position is offered on both full-time permanent (39 hours per week) and part-time permanent (19.5 hours per week) bases. Hours will be allocated based on departmental needs by the Department Head. The work environment is fully onsite within the Nursing Department.

The salary range effective from June 1, 2026, spans from 0,651 (starting point 1) to 0,939 (point 9 LSI), with annual leave governed by Health Service Executive policies.

Candidates must be prepared for face-to-face interviews with one week's advance notice and are expected to commence the role within a reasonable timeframe upon selection. The Healthcare Assistant will report directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 or another designated supervisor and will be accountable to the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing.

Role Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to support the delivery of rehabilitative and older adult care under the supervision of nursing or other healthcare professionals. Healthcare Assistants provide direct personal care and assistance to patients and residents, primarily in older person and rehabilitation settings. Their role involves supporting multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality care by working under the direction and supervision of health professionals, aligning with the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) guidelines.
