About the role

This full-time Handyperson position sits within the Facilities & Maintenance team and reports to the Maintenance Manager. The job covers 38 hours each week and is responsible for helping keep the hotel safe, compliant, secure, functional, and well maintained.

What you will do

• Carry out practical repair and maintenance work across the hotel.
• Complete painting tasks when required.
• Work with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
• Act quickly on maintenance requests raised by staff and guests.
• Check and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Make sure all work follows workplace health and safety rules as well as hotel policies.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
• Communicate professionally, keep a positive attitude, and respond to issues in a timely manner.

What you will bring

You should be able to manage time well, decide what needs attention first, and handle tasks on your own or with a team. A professional personal presentation, a solid understanding of WHS procedures, and the ability to work across a 7-day rotating roster are also important.
