Role Overview
This financial leadership role, based in Darwin, involves overseeing the financial activities across the DCOH Group. Reporting directly to the CFO and managing the finance team, responsibilities include financial reporting, governance, compliance, risk management, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely consolidated financial reports and statutory statements.
- Oversee compliance with statutory requirements, taxation, audits, and regulatory reporting.
- Direct accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, treasury, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
- Strengthen and maintain financial controls, governance frameworks, policies, and procedures across the group.
- Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations and integrity of financial records.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to guide strategic business decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing central finance team, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Drive continuous improvements in finance systems, reporting, controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning for the group.
- Collaborate with finance leaders in various business units to standardize financial practices and governance.
- Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, continuous improvement, and uphold the company’s Code of Conduct.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified CA or CPA (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) with tertiary education in finance, accounting, or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles with senior leadership exposure.
- Extensive technical knowledge of accounting standards (AASB, IFRS), taxation, and statutory reporting.
- Proven ability to manage audits, governance frameworks, and financial control environments.
- Experience in managing banking relationships, cash flow, and financial risk.
- Strong commercial insight with ability to analyze financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Leadership experience in developing and managing a high-performing finance team.
- Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across organizational levels.
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving and process enhancement skills.
- Exposure to construction, property development, hospitality, or project-driven environments is highly advantageous.
