Front-end Developer

About the Role

Our engineering team operates across Auckland (Takapuna) and Wellington with hybrid work arrangements standard, while fully remote positions across New Zealand are considered for highly qualified candidates.

We invite a senior-level software engineer to join us in building and maintaining our cloud-based multi-tenant SaaS platform. This role offers the rewarding opportunity to manage the entire lifecycle of the solutions you develop with a passionate and dedicated team.

• Conduct design reviews and provide well-founded technical advice.
• Participate actively in meetings to share project updates, challenges, and innovative ideas.
• Coordinate with QA teams to establish comprehensive test cases and quality plans.
• Collaborate across teams to plan, prioritize, and execute project tasks.
• Maintain and upgrade existing software solutions to ensure robustness.
• Take part in technical audits and ensure integration of any recommended improvements.
• Develop practical technical solutions aligned with business needs and objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven commercial experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA for web application development.
• Hands-on expertise developing front-end applications using modern technology stacks.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud deployment methodologies, including infrastructure as code.
• Experience managing APIs, including their publication, versioning, and maintenance.
• Understanding of both structured and unstructured database design principles.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Knowledge of insurance, e-commerce, and payments technology is advantageous but not essential.
