The UAE Context
Edenred UAE is a rapidly expanding payroll service provider supporting over 15,000 businesses and servicing upwards of 2.2 million unbanked employees. Partnering with 10 banks and 35 financial institutions, Edenred offers a distinctive value proposition facilitating payroll management and seamless salary distribution with multiple value-added features such as money transfers, mobile recharges, and card services via its mobile application.
Position Overview
The Fraud Analyst will focus on early identification of fraudulent activities by reviewing suspicious cases and detecting warning signs within customer and transaction data. This role involves supporting fraud investigations, documenting findings compliant with internal and regulatory standards, and coordinating with internal teams and law enforcement when necessary. Accurate maintenance of case logs and evidence records to aid auditing and reporting is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessment and investigation of suspected fraud cases sourced from internal teams, banks, merchants, customers, and external vendors.
- Handle first-level fraud operations such as case intake, data collection, and escalating suspicious activities appropriately to Fraud Analysts or Compliance departments.
- Analyze customer applications, transactional data, documents, and evidence to identify inconsistencies, counterfeit, impersonation, or unauthorized usage.
- Support further investigations by gathering facts from reported and system-generated alerts.
- Help prepare internal escalation reports aligning with organizational policies.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all investigations adhering to standard operating procedures, audit criteria, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Customer Support, and law enforcement agencies concerning fraud-related matters.
- Assist in responding to regulatory audits, inquiries, and internal fraud reviews.
- Support compliance mandates including licensing, AML/KYC, consumer protection responsibilities, and oversight of regulatory disclosures to maintain adherence to applicable laws and standards.
- Maintain accurate case records, investigation logs, and evidence archives.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Compliance, Fraud, Financial Crime, or Risk management roles.
- Availability to work a five-day week including rotational weekends to guarantee ongoing fraud monitoring.
- Background in fraud detection, transaction monitoring, card payment fraud, or financial crime operations is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the capability to follow procedures meticulously, identify anomalies, and escalate issues properly.
- Prior experience in banking, fintech, payments, or regulated financial sectors is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities capable of evaluating complex cases and large datasets.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel tools including filters, pivots, lookups, data analysis, and reporting.
- Fluency in English communication, both verbal and written.
- Preferred but not mandatory certifications include CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), ICA certifications, CAMI, GoAML, or relevant financial crime qualifications.
