Role Overview
Tiaki Wai, a council-owned body managing water services throughout the Wellington region, is seeking a Fleet Officer to oversee and optimise its diverse vehicle fleet. The fleet supports essential water service operations from Ōwhiro Bay to the Remutaka Ranges, including light commercial, passenger, and heavy vehicles. This position ensures that the fleet remains compliant, safe, cost-efficient, and reliably available to operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate servicing, maintenance, vehicle registrations, road user charges, and Warrant of Fitness/Certificate of Fitness compliance.
- Monitor overall fleet compliance, utilisation rates, and operational efficiency.
- Manage fleet documentation including records, insurance, and financial reporting.
- Assist with the procurement, leasing, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and support fleet users.
Candidate Profile
- Proven background in fleet management, logistics, or transport coordination.
- Comprehensive understanding of transport compliance and workplace health and safety standards.
- Strong administrative skills with a focus on reporting and record keeping.
- Excellent stakeholder management coupled with problem-solving capabilities.
- Must hold a valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
Work Details
This is a full-time position based in Petone, Lower Hutt requiring 40 hours per week. Candidates should be legally entitled to work long-term in New Zealand or have eligibility to obtain a working visa.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is from NZD 64,306 to 90,785 inclusive of KiwiSaver, with an expectation to remunerate near the midpoint of NZD 75,654, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
