About the Role
At Hynds Pipe Systems Limited, our workshop molds and equipment enable production of top-quality concrete products. We are seeking a proficient Workshop Fitter & Welder to join our manufacturing team located in Pokeno, Waikato, New Zealand. This role suits individuals who enjoy dismantling, understanding mechanisms, and reassembling with improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate components using Arc, MIG, and TIG welding techniques.
- Operate workshop machinery such as lathes, mills, presses, and other related equipment.
- Construct and maintain molds and their accessories for manufacturing projects.
- Apply strategic maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and breakdowns.
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings accurately.
- Innovate and enhance design and functioning of plant equipment.
- Ensure the workshop is safe, clean, and organized by implementing 5S methodologies.
- Support operations both onsite in the workshop and across manufacturing sites as required.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least 2 years of hands-on experience in welding and fabrication.
- Hold a valid Certified Welder qualification.
- Proficient in Arc, MIG, TIG welding processes including stainless steel, preferably with 3+ years’ experience.
- Comfortable and capable operating lathes, mills, presses, and other workshop machinery.
- Competent in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Hold a current forklift license applicable to workshop environments.
- Additional expertise in industrial machinery, CAD, hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems is advantageous.
- Demonstrate reliability, strong teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
