Position Overview
The First Cook role at a private school cafeteria reports to the Executive Chef and is accountable for the timely and correct preparation of nutritious meals, predominantly breakfast and lunch, adhering to menu plans and budget constraints. The role emphasizes maintaining cleanliness, following food safety protocols, and responding to client preferences flexibly.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure kitchen and food storage cleanliness at all times.
- Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals fitting the client’s schedule and menu guidelines.
- Adapt to client dietary needs and food preferences as required.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety and Safe Food Handling regulations.
- Observe all Dexterra and Campus specific policies and procedures.
- Manage kitchen inventory effectively.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Cook, with catering background preferred.
- Possess Level 1 Food Safe certification.
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
