Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate fire protection and safety systems for buildings and projects.
- Manage and coordinate installations of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, hydrants, fire pumps, and emergency equipment.
- Assess shop drawings, perform calculations, and review technical materials and submissions.
- Conduct thorough site inspections to verify installation meets safety and design standards.
- Liaise effectively with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing teams, consultants, contractors, and Civil Defense authorities.
- Assist in testing phases, commissioning processes, and official inspections by regulatory bodies.
- Ensure all systems comply strictly with NFPA codes, QCDD/Civil Defense standards, and project specifications.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess 5 to 8 years of professional experience in construction-related fire safety roles.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate solid expertise in fire alarm and firefighting system operations and design.
- Familiarity with NFPA and QCDD regulatory requirements is essential.
- Practical experience with drawing reviews, conducting site inspections, and overseeing testing and commissioning activities.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools is advantageous.
