Role Overview

The Fire Fighter is primarily responsible for responding swiftly to aircraft fires, structural fires, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and other urgent situations within the airport. The position ensures safety for passengers, crew, and airport staff by delivering expert firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergencies including aircraft and structural fires, medical crises, and hazardous material situations within airport premises.
  • Utilize diverse firefighting techniques such as water, foam, dry chemicals, and other agents to control and extinguish fires.
  • Conduct search and rescue missions in hazardous and smoke-obstructed environments.
  • Administer first aid and basic life support until advanced medical responders arrive; assist in patient transfer to medical facilities when needed.
  • Perform daily inspections and upkeep of firefighting equipment including vehicles, extinguishers, and personal protective gear to maintain operational readiness.
  • Maintain inventory records and participate in regular emergency simulations, ICAO-compliant training, and fire drills.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports, training documentation, and shift logs for audit and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere strictly to local, state, and federal firefighting and emergency response regulations, complying with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify and promptly address potential hazards during patrols and inspections.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams—airport operations, medical services, security, maintenance—and external agencies including local fire departments, airlines, ground handlers, equipment providers, insurers, and civil aviation authorities during emergency operations and drills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or an equivalent qualification.
  • Certification from a recognized firefighting academy is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of firefighting experience, preferably in aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) operations.
