Job description
Job Purpose
Ensure full preparedness of emergency procedures and equipment at power and desalination plants to enable prompt response during any emergency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain 100% readiness to respond to all emergencies at the site.
- Under supervision of the Fireman, safeguard the occupational health and safety of plant personnel, protect operations, company assets, and the environment by properly planning, inspecting, monitoring, following up, and resolving all fire safety and HSE issues.
- Stay updated with latest fire safety developments and industry practices, reporting findings to the Fireman for appropriate implementation.
- Undertake tasks assigned by the Fireman, Fire Marshal, or Fire Supervisor.
- Support identification and execution of changes and initiatives to improve fire safety and operational standards.
- Fully comply with relevant organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions to ensure consistent work quality.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the line manager.
Work Relationships
- Collaborate closely with the HSSE Team and all plant staff internally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum education: High School or Technical School diploma.
- NEBOSH or equivalent safety certification required.
- At least five years of professional firefighting experience, preferably in a power plant or manufacturing setting.
