Role Summary

The Financial Analyst position provides critical support to the Finance team by aiding in financial reporting, data interpretation, budgeting, and monitoring of operational performance. This early-career role is tailored for professionals interested in enhancing their analytical and financial planning skills within the dynamic mortgage lending sector. The analyst will collaborate with senior personnel and business leaders to analyze and synthesize information that drives strategic business decisions.

Key Duties

• Prepare and support monthly management reports and dashboards.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual financial report preparation.
• Collect and analyze financial and operational data for management evaluation.
• Review branch profit and loss statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Organize and maintain large datasets from various sources.
• Perform fundamental financial analyses and generate relevant reports.
• Create and update spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from management and partners.
• Track key performance indicators and operational metrics.
• Detect patterns and irregularities in financial and operational data.
• Maintain accuracy and data integrity in all financial and reporting documents.
• Engage with internal departments to collect data and support initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with mortgage lending regulations and company policies.
• Participate in analytical projects and efforts to improve processes.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or business analytics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel features including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of financial statements and accounting fundamentals.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for clear presentation of findings.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Keen interest in professional growth within financial planning and analysis.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Background in mortgage banking or financial services is a plus.
