About the Role
FedEx, a globally renowned express transportation company, is looking for a Financial Accountant specialized in fixed asset accounting based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This position operates under Grade 11 and focuses on monitoring and managing capital work in progress accounts to achieve timely capitalisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and resolve outstanding items in capital works in progress accounts to ensure accurate and timely capitalisation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering comprehensive insights and trend identification to optimize accounting processes.
- Lead initiatives to enhance fixed asset accounting workflows and raise operational efficiency standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to reconcile financial discrepancies and maintain compliance.
- Supervise business process outsourcing (BPO) activities, guiding process execution to conform to company policies.
- Work closely with auditors by preparing thorough documentation and audit trails related to assigned duties.
- Provide training sessions and develop documentation reflecting best practices for finance teams.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data through the use of advanced analytics tools.
- Identify gaps in processes and present actionable solutions to management for implementation.
- Participate and lead cross-functional projects aimed at fixing process issues and developing scalable financial solutions.
- Maintain strict adherence to internal control standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient knowledge of financial accounting principles, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Experience working with financial systems or ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Workday Payroll, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance standards and internal control procedures.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Experience developing financial reports using Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and VBA programming.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Alteryx, SQL, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
