About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team located in New Ross, County Wexford. This permanent position offers the chance to engage with multiple finance functions while working across several companies within a large trading group.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accounting documentation for various group companies, including bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and draft monthly management accounts under the supervision of the Group Financial Controller.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and calculate asset depreciation.
- Develop monthly cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
- Detect and highlight unusual trends or significant cost increases that require management attention.
- Prepare and file VAT returns with the Revenue Commissioners/HMRC for certain group entities.
- Ensure compliance with payroll and other tax regulations as set by the Revenue Commissioners/HMRC.
- Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations of intercompany balances and manage intercompany recharge preparations.
- Support Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable processes for multiple group companies, cooperating closely with responsible teams.
- Process payments and submit payment requests via the online banking platform for authorization.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
- Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and undertake project assignments as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a minimum of three years' experience in a fast-paced finance environment.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and sound judgment, capable of making logical decisions and adopting a proactive approach.
- Demonstrated experience working within a busy finance team handling numerous transactions across group companies.
- Highly organized, able to handle pressure, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and various accounting software.
