About the Role and Venues
Searcys is seeking an Events Manager to join the team at the historic Stationers' Hall and Barber-Surgeon's Hall located in the heart of the City of London, near St. Paul's Cathedral. Stationers' Hall is a magnificent Grade I listed building, rebuilt in 1673 after the Great Fire of London, and remains one of London's last ancient Livery Halls. Barber-Surgeon's Hall features elegant reception rooms and a grand Great Hall, providing unique event spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the events operations team to ensure seamless food and beverage service at all events held within the venue spaces.
- Managing front-of-house operations during assigned events and delivering detailed briefings to the team involved in event execution.
- Overseeing event setups according to event sheets and venue standard operating procedures to guarantee readiness.
- Ensuring that events commence and proceed on schedule as specified in the event documentation.
- Actively participating and contributing to daily and weekly event operations meetings.
- Collaborating closely with kitchen, event operations, and sales teams to ensure successful event delivery.
- Executing both short-term and long-term event planning and management tasks.
- Maintaining or surpassing budgeted sales and profit targets for events.
- Assessing event business opportunities to ensure feasible service delivery.
- Designing innovative and creative event setups using internal resources or outsourcing to qualified vendors when necessary.
- Guiding the event team to build enduring, value-driven customer relationships that support sales goals.
- Supporting recruitment, development, and training efforts for front-of-house staff.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in event management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of event and meeting management processes from initial planning through completion.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects effectively within a fast-paced and dynamic environment, maintaining performance under pressure.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Adaptability to challenges and new opportunities, approaching situations with solution-oriented thinking.
- Excellent strategic thought and critical reasoning abilities.
- A positive, creative, self-motivated personality that remains calm under pressure, coupled with a helpful and humble demeanor.
Additional Information and Benefits
- This role operates on a casual, zero-hours contract basis and is a permanent employment opportunity.
- Work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday.
