Role Overview

Turner Industries Group seeks a dedicated Estimator to join the Estimating team at our Pipe Fabrication Facility located in Port Allen, LA. This professional will play a crucial role in preparing accurate estimates to support project proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and manage proposal documents, technical specifications, drawings, and related project information.
• Perform material and labor quantity take-offs derived from client drawings, specifications, or bills of quantity.
• Calculate pricing based on the developed take-offs and client data; collaborate with QA/QC and contracts teams to develop thorough technical and financial proposal responses.
• Coordinate continuously with project and sales teams until the successful project award.
• Serve as the point of contact with the Contracts department for bid and award pertinent documents.
• Participate in internal and client "kick-off" meetings when necessary for awarded projects.
• Execute additional assigned tasks as required to support estimating functions.
• Uphold a clean and safe workplace environment at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Preferably at least two years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
• Strong analytical and technical capabilities to facilitate project execution with limited preliminary data.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Must successfully pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screening.
• Mandatory use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirts, gloves, and steel-toe boots when in shop or yard areas.

Physical and Mental Job Demands

The employee should be able to perform tasks including reaching in multiple directions, handling materials, standing, sitting, walking, seeing and hearing (with or without correction), applying basic math, planning tasks, interpreting shapes and objects, evaluating drawings or blueprints, following directions and safety protocols, plus effective reading and writing.
