Role Overview
The Estimation & Tendering Specialist will be an essential on-site team member responsible for creating comprehensive cost estimates and tender documentation for lighting projects. This role requires analyzing technical drawings, coordinating closely with the design team for precise quantity and pricing assessments, and managing submission schedules aligned with client and project criteria.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates based on project requirements and technical documentation.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate quantity take-offs.
- Prepare tender documents and respond promptly to requests for proposals.
- Manage timelines for tender submissions to ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain quotations and maintain current price lists.
- Support negotiation processes to achieve competitive bids.
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to clarify project specifications and mitigate risks.
Candidate Qualifications
- Proficiency in project estimation, cost analysis, and tender preparation within construction, lighting, or related technical areas.
- Ability to interpret engineering or architectural drawings and technical specifications effectively.
- Experience with office software such as spreadsheets, word processing, and email, plus familiarity with project management or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams.
- Good organizational skills and capability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines concurrently.
- A diploma or degree in engineering, architecture, business, or similar fields is preferred.
