About the Company
A multidisciplinary engineering firm based in Abu Dhabi specializing in delivering premium solutions for challenging oil & gas and construction projects presents an opportunity to join as an Estimation Engineer focused on piping and mechanical disciplines.
Role Overview
The appointed engineer will be instrumental in generating technical and financial proposals by collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project stakeholders. This includes developing precise and competitive cost estimates adhering to project guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of technical and commercial bids for oil & gas and construction ventures
- Create detailed cost approximations, Bills of Quantities, and pricing frameworks related to piping and mechanical scopes
- Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to define project scope accurately
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, and planning teams to validate cost assumptions
- Compile bid clarifications, outline deviations, and evaluate risks
- Assist leadership with value engineering initiatives and cost reduction approaches
- Ensure all estimations comply with project specs, client requirements, and legal regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 12 to 15 years of estimation experience in oil & gas or construction sectors
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience within the UAE market focusing on oil & gas projects
- Extensive expertise in piping and mechanical systems relevant to EPC or consultancy assignments
Required Skills
- Expertise in technical and commercial bid development
- Proficiency in cost estimation and pricing model formulation
- Ability to critically review technical drawings and specifications
- Effective coordination across engineering and procurement departments
- Skill in value engineering and optimizing costs
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing complex oil & gas initiatives in an EPC setting
- Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and client standards in the UAE
