Job Purpose

The Mechanical MEP Estimation Engineer is tasked with reviewing HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting drawings and other tender documents to prepare detailed Bill of Quantities and cost estimates for mechanical components of MEP projects across residential, commercial, fitouts, and industrial buildings. This role also collaborates with the ESCO team to include energy-saving considerations in estimations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents to summarize HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Fighting scopes and organize estimation activities accordingly.
• Collaborate with the Estimation Manager and team to clarify scope details and produce accurate Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with the supply chain to obtain supplier quotations.
• Assist in bid submission preparation in partnership with Estimation Manager and documentation controllers.
• Accurately quantify all mechanical materials, labor, plant, and equipment required and prepare cost estimates conforming to tender drawings and specifications.
• Integrate energy-efficient measures in collaboration with the ESCO team into materials and resource quantities.
• Continuously improve expertise in MEP estimation alongside peers and management.
• Review tender documents comprehensively to identify risks and unspecified requirements.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing mechanical systems when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience estimating HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting works in MEP projects for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings within the UAE or other GCC countries.
• Hands-on experience in estimation processes including use of PlanSwift software for fit out and new projects.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles and software such as Carrier HAP.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under stringent deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Experience in the ESCO (Energy Service Company) sector is a plus.
