About the Role

The Enterprise Security Architect reports directly to the Director of Cybersecurity and takes a pivotal role in ensuring that technology modernization efforts are secure and future-ready. This role leads the formulation and harmonization of strategies related to Information Security, Electronic Security, Identity & Access Management, and Privacy, ensuring all designed and implemented systems rest on robust security foundations. This is a strategic, hands-on position that requires directing how security practices are integrated into new systems and platforms. Collaboration with multiple teams is essential to embed security considerations early and consistently throughout project lifecycles.

The position also involves influencing the broader enterprise architecture community by contributing to the Community of Practice, promoting consistency in architectural design and decision-making processes across the organization. It provides a unique opportunity to significantly impact how systems, personnel, and data are protected amid a substantial transformation program.

Collaboration skills and persuasive communication are essential to foster stakeholder support across diverse teams. Succeeding in this role requires a seasoned professional capable of guiding the enterprise security architecture landscape and contributing effectively to the Cybersecurity Leadership team.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Substantial experience as an Enterprise Security Architect or senior security architecture professional, adept at formulating security strategies, developing target-state architectures, roadmaps, and governing frameworks that influence enterprise initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge at the enterprise level across multiple security domains including Information Security, Identity & Access Management, Privacy, and established security architecture standards and methods.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of building consensus, managing competing priorities, and securing approval from technical and business leadership.
  • Experience using architectural frameworks and strategic roadmaps to inform security requirements, technology selection, and organizational change management in complex business environments.
  • In-depth technical proficiency with security technologies, solutions, and services, working collaboratively with technical experts, vendors, and project teams to ensure secure, effective business outcomes.

Salary and Benefits

The salary band ranges from NZD 145,192 to NZD 204,977 annually, with a midpoint of NZD 170,814. Final remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.
