About the Company
We are one of Singapore's leading comprehensive Underground Utilities Infrastructure firms, specializing in construction and upkeep of underground utilities, sewer pipeline rehabilitation, road and airfield construction and maintenance, asphalt pre-mix production, and construction waste recycling.
Role Overview
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer is tasked with ensuring adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) mandates, formulating and executing safety strategies, and addressing non-compliance issues on site. The position involves spearheading safety programs, conducting root cause analyses, facilitating related training, and promoting ongoing improvements in safety protocols. The officer leads accident inquiries, performs proactive inspections, and enhances the safety environment at every stage of project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and craft a tailored EHS plan aligned with contractual and regulatory standards.
- Identify and resolve any non-compliance tied to WSH regulations by implementing corrective measures.
- Conduct in-depth root cause investigations of non-conformance incidents and recommend viable solutions.
- Evaluate alternative problem-solving strategies considering their effect on WSH compliance outcomes.
- Coordinate and conduct educational sessions to improve team familiarity with safety standards and best practices.
- Formulate actionable improvement plans based on WSH solution discussions to foster continuous safety enhancements.
- Innovate and apply novel methods to address complex safety and health issues.
- Drive WSH compliance activities to meet legal and organizational mandates.
- Lead detailed accident investigations and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Carry out proactive site inspections, providing guidance and training on safety standards to teams.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by supervisors or department heads.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold a valid Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) license registered with MOM.
- Possess at least a Specialist Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Workplace Safety and Health accredited by MOM.
- Have a minimum of two years' relevant experience in construction or utilities projects, advantageously with SP Group and LTA exposure.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of the WSH Act, applicable regulations, and sector-specific safety standards.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal capabilities to collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, and site personnel.
- Experience in HSE policy implementation and management system upkeep.
- Competency in audit reporting with skills to identify findings and propose corrective/preventive measures.
- Possession of a valid Class 2 or 3 driver's license is a beneficial asset for site mobility.

- Work Schedule: 6-day working week.
- Office Location: No. 3 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729556 (North Singapore).
