Job description
Job Overview
The role involves promptly removing products from floor areas to maintain cleanliness and ensure compliance with USDA, OSHA, and company policies. This includes keeping floors and drains free from condemned items and standing water to uphold production hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and immediately remove condemned products found near main walkways, drains, or pooling water.
- Transport removed products to designated condemned product containers.
- Utilize hand held water brooms to clean floors when needed.
- Oversee and maintain unrestricted flow of drains in the production zones.
- Engage as an active team member, contributing to development, communications, and implementation of team initiatives and policies.
- Attend team meetings and collaborate to enhance cohesion and address operational challenges.
- Understand and uphold Simmons' operating system standards including quality, security, and policies, communicating any concerns or improvement suggestions.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support business goals and demonstrate initiative beyond this role's core duties.
Physical and Safety Requirements
- Perform activities such as occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing/pulling, neck and waist twisting, kneeling, and lifting/carrying weights up to 10 pounds.
- Constant walking, standing, bending, squatting, and repetitive shoulder, arm, and hand movements are involved.
- Use fine manual dexterity and visual acuity while working in a manufacturing plant atmosphere.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment including waterproof gloves, sleeves, and hearing protection.
Experience & Education
Previous familiarity with processing facility operations is essential; no specific educational qualifications are mandated.
