Doorman / Porter

About the Role

Our client, a luxury hotel located in Oysterbay, Dar Es Salaam, is looking to hire three experienced Doormen/Porters. These professionals will play a vital role in delivering a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring guests receive exceptional service from arrival until their departure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive and depart from the hotel.
• Assist guests with their luggage and escort them to their rooms.
• Open doors and provide clear directions within the hotel premises.
• Coordinate the handling of luggage during guest check-in and check-out processes.
• Keep the entrance area clean and inviting at all times.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Collaborate closely with the Front Office team to facilitate smooth guest arrivals and departures.
• Assist guests with transportation arrangements when needed.
• Consistently uphold the hotel's standard of customer service excellence.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience working in a hotel or customer service setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Physically capable of safely handling guests’ luggage.
• Professional appearance combined with a friendly demeanor.
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Prior experience in a luxury hotel environment is highly desirable.
