Job description

About the Role

Join our pharmacy team as a Dispenser where you will play a vital role by supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver pharmacy and healthcare services effectively and safely. This position is based in-store across various locations including Bishop Auckland and selected London locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately ensuring the safe supply of medicines through processes such as ordering, labeling, endorsing, and collection.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare team members to assist in managing and providing pharmacy services.
  • Offer guidance and care to patients regarding medicines and escalate queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to guarantee safe and legal dispensing.
  • Stay current with innovations and operational protocols within the store pharmacy.
  • Help patients manage their prescriptions effectively to support adherence and minimize medication waste.
  • Utilize evolving in-store technologies to enhance traditional dispensing workflows, improving patient safety and increasing time available for patient engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Completion of Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent), or enrolment with completion of first year in an MPharm program.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is mandatory. This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
  • Experience in community pharmacy is desirable but not mandatory.

Additional Information

  • Hourly pay ranges from £13.92, increasing up to £16.64 in certain London locations.
  • The position is based onsite; remote applications or applicants without UK qualifications and valid work rights will not be progressed.
  • A pre-employment screening process including DBS, PVG, or Access NI checks will be conducted depending on location.
