Dispatcher

Role overview

Urban Cars ADL is hiring a full-time Dispatcher to work from its Accra location. In this role, you will keep vehicle movement organized each day, allocate drivers to trips, and make sure pickups and drop-offs happen on time according to customer needs and the company’s schedule.

What you will do

• Track trips as they happen and keep an eye on progress throughout the shift.
• Adjust plans when delays or route changes occur and keep the right people informed.
• Stay in regular contact with drivers and operations staff to ensure smooth coordination.
• Record trip details, fuel consumption, and vehicle availability accurately.
• Use dispatch or GPS tools to improve routing efficiency and reduce idle time.
• Answer customer questions about trips and escalate concerns when needed.
• Support basic operational reporting and performance updates.

Skills and qualifications

• Good communication and coordination abilities for managing live interactions with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Strong planning and time management skills to juggle several trips, priorities, and schedule changes under pressure.
• Comfort using dispatch systems, GPS tools, email, spreadsheets, and other basic computer applications.
• Ability to solve problems calmly when dealing with delays, route changes, or other unexpected issues.
• Careful attention to detail and solid record-keeping habits for logs, schedules, and vehicle status updates.
• Willingness to work on-site in Accra, including early, late, or weekend shifts depending on operational needs.
• Experience in dispatching, transportation, ride-hailing, logistics, or fleet coordination is beneficial.
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required; further training in logistics, transportation, or operations is an added advantage.

This is an on-site position based in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The role requires consistent communication, quick decision-making, and the ability to keep operations moving smoothly across changing schedules.
