Director Innovation Management

Role Overview

As an integral part of the management team focusing on innovation management and system enablement, this role collaborates with peers in system innovation, public programs, and standardization to steer the evolution of Innovation Management at NXP. The position is responsible for crafting and advancing the global innovation strategy that bridges technology, business, and external ecosystem partnerships, unlocking growth and positioning innovation as a key driver for the company's sustainable success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, promote, and implement NXP's innovation strategy by recognizing growth opportunities and transforming technology, market, and ecosystem trends into strategic guidance for leadership.
• Head the Innovation Management team, overseeing governance structures such as Innovation Councils and Boards, managing the innovation portfolio, and ensuring coordination across Business Lines.
• Build and widen innovation ecosystems involving startups, academic institutions, and partnerships, serving as an expert advisor to fuel innovation-driven expansion and business creation.
• Manage the innovation portfolio end-to-end, including setting priorities, funding allocation frameworks, and defining success measurements.
• Align innovation initiatives with corporate strategy, research & development, and business units to promote impactful business results.
• Establish key performance indicators and monitor the progress of innovation initiatives and governance frameworks.
• Promote a culture that encourages innovation, experimentation, and interdepartmental cooperation.
• Represent innovation management in senior leadership meetings and contribute to high-level corporate decision-making processes.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of approximately 12 years of experience in innovation, strategic roles, research and development, technology leadership, or backgrounds related to start-ups and venturing.
• Ability to foresee strategic developments and convert market and technology trends into actionable strategic insights.
• Demonstrated leadership and influence capabilities spanning diverse teams, geographic locations, and senior executives.
• Experience establishing organizational frameworks, teams, or new competencies amid uncertain or evolving environments.
• Strong focus on execution to transform concepts into measurable business results.
• Superior communication skills with an aptitude for simplifying complex information into clear presentations for executive audiences.
• A broad and multidisciplinary mindset paired with quick learning abilities and a keen interest in emerging technologies.
