Die Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

Baltic Recruitment is assisting a Tier 1 automotive supplier in hiring a Die Maintenance Technician for a one-year fixed-term contract. The primary responsibility is the upkeep, repair, modification, and enhancement of injection moulding tooling to maximize performance, efficiency, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct both reactive and scheduled maintenance on press and injection moulding tools within a dynamic production setting.
• Identify tooling malfunctions through problem-solving and carry out root cause analysis to deliver sustainable fixes.
• Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and engineering departments to fulfill operational objectives and promote continuous improvements.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs including MIG, TIG, and ARC techniques as necessary.
• Efficiently prioritize and manage workload to accommodate changing production requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor apprentices, and participate in skill-building activities within the team.
• Operate independently during solo shifts, handling maintenance, troubleshooting, and decision-making to uphold tooling performance without supervision.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in tooling maintenance, preferably associated with injection moulding processes.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities focused on long-term solutions.
• Familiarity with hot runner and manifold systems.
• Skilled in tool finishing and proper bedding techniques.

Employment Package

• Fixed-term contract for 1 year with the possibility of permanent employment.
• Annual salary ranging from £47,000 to £53,000 inclusive of shift allowances, commensurate with experience.
• Three-shift rotational work pattern.
