About the Role
BAM UK & Ireland invites applications for the position of Design and BCAR Coordinator based in Meath Hill, County Meath, Ireland. This role offers a chance to contribute to major construction, civil, and facilities management projects in Ireland, working alongside a collaborative team while developing skills to the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage purposefully and efficiently with BAM’s Design & Build Design Team and wider project members.
- Prepare and issue Method Statements (MTSs) referred to as "RDD" to the client (Department of Education), Technical Assessors (TA) and Multi Disciplinary Technical Team (MDTT).
- Ensure that all MTS and Technical Submissions comply fully with Government Works Requirements (GWR), Statutory Safety Works Requirements (SSWR), and contract documents.
- Oversee the Design Team’s submission of Design Submissions and Designer Checklists to the TA/MDTT through Autodesk (ACC) Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Coordinate and record site Benchmark Mockups and First of a Kind (FoK) trials, including documentation of attendance and photographic records, completing FoK reports and uploading to the CDE.
- Ensure subcontractors and suppliers provide up-to-date documentation such as Declarations of Performance (DOPs) and CE marking certificates.
- Compile design-related information, including Design Submissions, MTSs, and Requests for Information (RFIs), within the bi-weekly Contractor Progress Reports.
- Manage design progress from concept phase through to construction stage.
- Lead and chair design team meetings to facilitate collaboration and issue resolution.
- Supervise the design of façade systems including curtain walling, cladding, glazing, and brickwork, progressing from conceptual stages to detailed construction design.
- Monitor and manage information flow utilizing Autodesk software platforms.
- Work closely with mechanical & electrical, structural, and architectural designers to address and resolve design clashes or technical challenges at early stages.
- Track all design submittals, RFIs, and approvals carefully to align with the project timeline.
- Coordinate mock-ups, sample panels, and material selection processes in cooperation with architects and client representatives.
- Maintain a solid understanding of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR requirements, and applicable façade standards.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Strong interpersonal and team management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Experience operating within highly regulated environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational proficiency.
- Skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Desirable
- Previous site experience in design management, site management, or project management roles.
- Engineering degree qualification or experience as a senior/site engineer.
- Exposure to medium to large scale construction projects.
- Awareness of construction methodologies and web-based contract communication systems.
- Holds Safe Pass card and manual handling training.
