Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to lead the design and development of scalable cloud data infrastructures tailored for AI-driven education solutions. The role involves architecting enterprise-grade data warehouses and lakes to consolidate disparate educational datasets into a unified, secure, and highly performant repository that supports advanced analytics and AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain scalable cloud-based data warehouse and lake architectures using platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
  • Establish comprehensive data architecture strategies incorporating data modeling techniques like Star schema, Snowflake schema, and Data Vault suitable for intensive analytical workloads.
  • Design robust ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, cleansing, and transforming data from diverse EdTech systems including Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, and CRM platforms.
  • Ensure data pipelines are resilient, scalable, and capable of processing batch and near-real-time streaming data efficiently.
  • Collaborate with AI experts and data scientists to optimize data architecture for predictive modeling, generative AI, and analytics use cases.
  • Optimize database and compute resource performance to support high-speed AI data processing demands.
  • Implement data governance frameworks ensuring high data quality, consistency, and adherence to master data management principles.
  • Design data architectures compliant with strict US privacy and security regulations such as FERPA, incorporating encryption, anonymization, and access control mechanisms.
  • Engage actively in Agile development environments, collaborating with product owners and scrum teams to translate architectural goals into user stories.
  • Mentor and guide data engineers on best practices for SQL optimization, database design, and scalable data engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Over 11 years of collective experience in data engineering and architecture, including a minimum of 5 years in architecting cloud-native data warehouses.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, GCP, or Azure and ETL/ELT orchestration tools like dbt, Apache Airflow, Matillion, and Fivetran.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and deep knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and columnar database systems alongside expertise in complex data modeling.
  • Experience designing data architectures to effectively support machine learning models, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), and AI applications.
  • Proven experience working with Agile methodologies and contributing within Scrum teams for iterative architectural delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to higher education data ecosystems, EdTech platforms, or standards such as Ed-Fi, CEDS, and LTI is advantageous.
  • Relevant cloud certification credentials like AWS Certified Data Analytics, Snowflake SnowPro Core/Advanced, or Microsoft Azure Data Engineer are preferred.
