Role Overview

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Data Scientist for a client based in Galway, Ireland. This position involves managing and analyzing a large data repository to design and execute strategies that enhance data value and relevance. Key Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced cloud technologies, sophisticated machine learning methods, and complex statistical models to extract insights from data, support decision-making processes, and optimize predictions and processes at scale.
• Lead projects independently from initiation through completion, delivering actionable business insights.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, data, and engineering to frame challenges and develop effective analytical solutions.
• Interpret analytical outcomes, generate meaningful insights, and represent problems through impactful metrics and visualizations.
• Carry out statistical data exploration, preparation, modeling, prediction, clustering, analysis, and comprehensive reporting.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
• Have 3 to 5 years of professional experience in relevant fields.
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of machine learning modeling techniques and capability in visualizing model outputs tailored for engineers, customers, and stakeholders.
• Advanced education beyond degree level is an advantage.
• Skilled in effective communication to translate analytical insights into engaging narratives and advocate for data science and machine learning as transformative capabilities.
• Experience with statistical inference, both supervised and unsupervised machine learning, reliability/survivability modeling, or predictive maintenance.
• Understanding of large-scale data mining, including techniques for clustering, classification, regression, and anomaly detection.
