Data Scientist / Data Visualization Analyst

Role Overview

This part-time remote position focuses on integrating data science techniques and visualization to assist the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship (CODE) in enhancing its programs, startups, and strategic decisions. The position involves collecting and refining data from internal operations, startup cohorts, and the broader ecosystem to yield impactful insights.

Key Duties

• Develop dashboards and visual representations of data tailored to various stakeholders.
• Create regular reports to inform management and stakeholders about program effectiveness and startup outcomes.
• Collaborate with program leaders, mentors, and leadership teams translating complex business issues into analytical assignments and clearly communicate results to diverse audiences.
• Support data-driven initiatives such as content for events, workshops, and thought leadership activities.

Candidate Profile

• Expertise in data science and statistics covering modeling, hypothesis testing, and quantitative methods.
• Practical competency in data cleaning, exploratory analysis, and extracting insights from multifaceted data sets.
• Proven skills in data visualization tools and dashboard creation that effectively convey insights to mixed audiences.
• Familiarity with data programming languages and tools including Python or R, SQL, and visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with startup or innovation-related data and understanding of digital entrepreneurship ecosystems are advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset complemented by critical thinking and excellent communication capabilities for simplifying technical information.
• Education in quantitative disciplines such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or similar fields or equal hands-on experience.
• Capability to perform independently in a remote environment and efficiently handle part-time commitments while engaging constructively in multicultural and cross-disciplinary teams.
