Overview
The Data Engineer & BI Analyst position is integral to enabling the company to effectively utilize its data assets for strategic and operational advantages. The responsibilities within this role are expected to grow and evolve as the organization's data initiatives expand, requiring flexibility and adaptation from the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the company's Data Strategy, including the development and management of data architecture and BI reporting platforms.
- Create and support technical elements of company-wide data governance.
- Monitor and enhance data quality, accessibility, and understanding across the business.
- Support various data-related projects on an ad hoc basis as required.
Knowledge and Expertise Required
- Comprehensive understanding of Guernsey Electricity's organizational structure, goals, strategies, and success drivers.
- Hands-on experience with MS Fabric and/or Power BI, along with familiarity with common data architecture models.
- A good grasp of Data Governance principles and their implementation.
- Ability to make informed technical decisions and accept accountability for application delivery.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret business requirements and independently manage and deliver work packages.
- Broad and detailed knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts and excellent interpersonal skills across different organizational levels and contexts.
- Capacity to communicate complex data concepts clearly to audiences without technical backgrounds.
- Effective prioritization skills aligned with BI and data analytics goals.
- Positive, customer-focused attitude and a friendly demeanor.
- Expertise in translating business needs into BI solutions and employing various data visualization techniques to communicate insights.
- Willingness and aptitude to learn and integrate new tools and technologies as they emerge within the field.
- Mandatory possession of local Guernsey, Channel Islands, or UK Right to Work eligibility.
