Position Overview

This opportunity is offered through a partner company seeking a Data Analytics Business Analyst located in the United States. The role enables you to connect business objectives with sophisticated data and analytics solutions in a collaborative, data-centric environment. You will engage directly with various stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and business teams to convert complex requirements into scalable reporting tools, interactive dashboards, and analytical frameworks. Your efforts will ensure data accuracy, compliance, and usefulness for well-informed organizational decisions. You will be involved across the entire analytics lifecycle, from gathering requirements and testing to deployment and ongoing improvements, supporting innovation, governance, and operational excellence within a remote-first setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Facilitate discovery sessions with business users to ascertain reporting needs, define KPIs, and document business and technical analytics requirements.
• Examine and profile data from diverse sources, identify quality issues, perform gap analyses, and propose validation and reconciliation measures to enhance data reliability.
• Convert business needs into precise functional and technical documentation, including data models, ETL/ELT workflows, analytics pipelines, and business intelligence implementations.
• Design and implement testing approaches for dashboards, reports, and predictive models by preparing test plans, managing user acceptance testing, tracking defects, and ensuring performance quality.
• Support deployment of analytics solutions by producing operational guides, monitoring live releases, resolving data inconsistencies, and assisting with incident management.
• Maintain thorough documentation including business requirements, data dictionaries, data lineage diagrams, metadata catalogs, user manuals, and technical references.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and governance stakeholders to maintain consistent data definitions, ensure compliance with regulations, and facilitate effective communication.
• Identify and implement analytics process enhancements via automation, reusable components, self-service capabilities, and continual performance monitoring.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Vocational/technical training, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline coupled with commensurate professional experience.
• Experience: Between 3 and 6 years in data analytics, business analysis, or data science depending on educational credentials.
• Technical Skills: Strong command of SQL (especially T-SQL) for querying, analysis, and data validation.
• Exposure to data visualization and business intelligence platforms for building dashboards and reports.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, analytics project lifecycles, testing procedures, and documentation standards.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata oversight, data quality management, and regulatory compliance including HIPAA.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem resolution, communication abilities, and capacity to articulate complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
• Experience coordinating with data engineers, BI developers, and multidisciplinary teams within complex analytic contexts.
• Residency within North Carolina is mandatory, with occasional travel to the Morrisville office required for team collaboration.
