Data Analyst (Prime Brokerage) (Contract)

Its service range spans corporate finance and advisory, debt and equity capital markets, derivatives trading, brokerage and research for retail and institutional clients, as well as prime brokerage.

Role Overview

This role belongs to the Finance function and is offered as a 12-month contract based in Singapore.

Core Responsibilities

The position focuses on monitoring, analysing, and reporting on prime brokerage revenue, exposure, and client activity across multiple products. The analyst will help surface deviations, produce management insights, and support dashboard development, process improvements, and regulatory reporting.

Revenue and Exposure Monitoring

• Review daily revenue and exposure across prime products including CFD, equity swaps, securities borrowing and lending, margin financing, cash equities, and custody.
• Track financing spreads, borrowing costs, margin usage, and client-level profitability.

Review of Client Activity and Exceptions

• Continuously assess client activity, margin consumption, turnover, and shifts in exposure.
• Spot unusual behaviour such as unexpected MTM changes, abnormal leverage movements, or shifts in borrowing and financing patterns.
• Escalate significant exceptions and prepare concise summaries for the relevant follow-up teams.

Client Behaviour Analysis and Business Insights

• Study trading patterns, holding profiles, concentration risk, liquidity usage, and margin consumption across all prime products.
• Identify the factors driving client performance, exposure changes, and product usage trends.
• Help improve funding efficiency, borrow spreads, capital deployment, and product contribution to lift overall profitability.
• Provide structured insights to Product and Finance stakeholders.

Reporting and Dashboard Development

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for the prime brokerage business.
• Compile KPIs such as utilisation, spreads, exposure changes, and product-level contribution.
• Create presentation decks and materials for management and business review meetings.
• Build and support Power BI dashboards for product revenue, margin and exposure analytics, and funding balance and financing trend monitoring.
• Improve automation to enhance visibility for business and control teams.
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements.

Product, Process, and Stakeholder Support

• Take part in UAT cycles, system enhancements, product changes, and prime brokerage initiatives.
• Work closely with Finance and Product Management teams.
• Support ad hoc analysis and senior stakeholder requests as needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 to 4 years of experience in prime brokerage, equity finance, delta-one, or securities lending.
• Working knowledge of the full prime product set, including CFDs, equity swaps, SBL, margin financing, cash equities, custody, and global execution.
• Strong grasp of financing economics, margining, P&L drivers, and borrowing mechanics.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong SQL capability.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI.
• Understanding of ETL, data architecture, and data security concepts.
