About the company
Blackstone is a leading global alternative asset manager with more than $1.3 trillion in assets under management. The firm works to generate strong returns for institutional and individual investors by improving the companies it invests in across real estate, private equity, credit, infrastructure, life sciences, growth equity, secondaries, and hedge funds.
This role sits within the Real Estate and Private Equity technology team at BXTI and focuses on building analytics capabilities that support alternative asset management operations. The work centers on turning business needs into practical technology solutions, improving workflows, and strengthening the firm’s data platform.
Role overview
In this position, you will help build analytical tools that support deal diligence, portfolio review, and related operating workflows. You will own complex initiatives from early definition through delivery, working closely with technologists and product managers to deliver solutions that create measurable business value. The role calls for a mix of analytical thinking, operational discipline, and the ability to move work forward with urgency and persistence.
Key responsibilities
- Own the intake and refinement of technology and data requests tied to deal tracking, portfolio monitoring, and similar workflows, while identifying opportunities to improve tooling, automation, and data movement.
- Run business analysis and stakeholder discussions with teams across the firm, especially within the private equity business, to support efficient modeling, asset management, and portfolio management processes.
- Work with global and regional partners to capture best practices and operating procedures, and promote consistent approaches to intake, prioritization, delivery, and documentation.
- Build and support analytical software solutions in Python and SQL with attention to code quality, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of data used in AI and analytics workflows, including access control, licensing checks, and alignment with legal, security, and business requirements before release.
- Help grow the firm’s data analytics, data science, and AI culture by leading discussions and training sessions for both technical and business audiences.
- Partner with platform and engineering teams on release and deployment processes; knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and cloud deployment tools is beneficial.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in data analysis or data science, with strong working knowledge of Python and SQL for working with datasets and data warehouses.
- Background in a technology function within a financial services firm, with preference for experience in alternative asset management or real estate.
- Strong analytical capability, including statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Practical experience with data governance, data quality, and data integration methods.
- Hands-on use of business intelligence tools such as Sigma and Tableau.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain ideas clearly to business teams, technical colleagues, and senior leadership.
- Ability to define scope clearly, manage scope changes, and communicate adjustments effectively.
- Comfort managing multiple priorities and escalating issues in a timely, constructive way.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Preferred skills
Experience with software delivery tools such as version control systems, CI/CD tools, and cloud deployment technologies is an advantage.
