This role sits at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI safety. You’ll help shape how technical models respond to sensitive security-related topics, working with a remote team that supports leading AI research efforts. Position Details
- Role: Cybersecurity SWE — AI Safety
- Engagement type: Contract
- Work mode: Fully remote
- Weekly commitment: 15 to 40 hours
- Pay rate: $60 to $90 per hour
What You’ll Do
- Create high-quality prompts focused on advanced cybersecurity subjects.
- Review and label model outputs for correctness, usefulness, and safe treatment of sensitive material.
- Use defined rules to sort prompts and conversations into the right categories.
- Partner with AI research teams to strengthen safety and overall model quality.
- Work independently and on your own schedule while meeting deadlines and contributing to model security improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or more than 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep familiarity with cybersecurity principles and modern software architectures.
- Strong analytical thinking and clear technical writing skills in English.
- Good judgment when dealing with security topics and dual-use information responsibly.
- Preferred experience includes offensive security, penetration testing, vulnerability research, or similar specialties.
- Experience assessing, scoring, or red-teaming technical content is a plus.
