Customer Delivery Driver

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be a vital representative of Tesco, visiting customers at their homes to provide excellent service with a friendly attitude. This role involves more than just driving; it is physically engaging and varied, with each shift bringing different experiences. While you will spend much of the day working independently, a supportive team of managers and colleagues will be available at the store base for assistance whenever necessary.

Work Schedule

• Sundays: 5 PM to 11 PM
• Mondays: 5 PM to 11 PM
• Fridays: 5 PM to 11 PM
• Saturdays: 5 PM to 11 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure customers receive their shopping in pristine condition.
• Load the delivery van safely and perform all necessary checks to ensure it is fit for road use and ready to provide excellent service.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with customers about any order modifications, substitutions, or items nearing expiration, offering refunds when appropriate to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Handle products delicately, treating every order with personal care to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within the scheduled time frame, providing warm and genuine customer service at the doorstep, leaving customers feeling valued and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Establish strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and deliver superior service to customers.
• Be friendly and approachable towards both customers and team members.
• Adapt swiftly to changing customer needs and embrace changes encountered while on the road and in the store environment.
• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points on the license.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay at 14.18 per hour, increasing to 15.45 per hour for those in stores within the M25 area; some locations may offer additional payments.
• Guaranteed minimum of 16 working hours per week, with roles available from 12 hours per week.
• Starting holiday entitlement of 20 days plus a personal day, increasing to 22 days after 12 months, in addition to Bank Holidays.
